What did I just look at?

A almost-human character runs an almost-normal exhibition in an almost-finished art gallery. It assumes almost all the roles of a staff involved in an opening, from the artist herself, to the curator, cleaning staff and even the audience.

Why did Alex and I go through all this?

First of all we wanted to be the first people to do an artwork and an “exhibition” at the INTERNATIONAL Art Center.

Secondly, we wanted to draw attention to the state of contemporary art in the city of Iasi. The second largest city in Romania has an almost non-existent contemporary cultural infrastructure. We think this is worth changing.

A year ago, in February, the building was supposed to be ready. The administration pretended it was working, and we, in turn, pretended to exhibit and provide cultural services.
